A New Look

I know what you're thinking: "Something's different."

Well, it's true. I've changed the look of the site -- layout, background, etc. For a very long time, I had wanted something more sophisticated looking, something "cool". Frankly, something that looked like an LCARS screen, or as close to it as I could get. I thought I had found a way to do that through another web host, but it wasn't until I was about finished building the new website that I realized I would have to spend more money than I can afford to part with right now in order to attach my domain name to the new server.

As I said, I simply can't afford to do that right now. I'm unemployed and having little luck finding a job. So what I get in unemployment benefits -- which isn't much -- has to go to bills and food. Still, I had spent a great deal of time over the last several months working on this new website, and didn't want to have wasted it all. After consulting with a good friend, I came to accept that while I have decided to abandon the transfer to a new server and stick with Blogger, my time was not wasted -- I at least got a really good idea of what I wanted, and should I be in a position to pay out those extra dollars one day in the future, I at least have a website built and waiting.

In the meantime, I decided to revamp the look of the website at my present server. It's no more sophisticated or cool than it was before, but I find I'm okay with that. I like what I see, and everything is as easy to find as it was before. I hope you all will feel the same.

Oh! I should probably warn you that on a couple of pages you will see spoilers for future events. I am sorry to tease you, but as soon as I can get my Muse to cooperate and get my open storylines finished up, I will be moving on to what I have been referring to as my "super-secret project". Well, because I felt the need to go ahead and add extra information to a few pages and articles, I can tell you what's coming, at least in part:

A time jump of 18 years. No, I'm not jumping on the Picard wagon train, so to speak. It simply happens that my idea -- writing a series around a core group of characters just starting out in Starfleet -- coincides with the timeframe of the new show. These characters will not only be green cadets, but a few will be the children of some of my present characters. I won't show you the cast of cadets just yet, but hope that, since I have so much time on my hands, I might get some writing done so I can tidy up open storylines and move forward with the new focus of my writing. I hope you're intrigued with the idea, and I hope you'll keep following along on all the adventures yet to come.
