Note
All remaining Ambassador-class vessels were retired from active service in the year 2385. Five years later, when the Advanced Occupational Placement Program for junior and senior cadets was restructured into the Starfleet Academy Afloat Program -- in which up to half of a crew would consist of cadets spending their entire academy years onboard a ship -- all retired Starfleet vessels still fit for deep space flight had their offensive and defensive systems upgraded and were put into service as academy vessels.
